The John Lewis advert has aired, the Coca-Cola truck has passed through Liverpool and the carol singers are out in force – the Christmas season has well and truly arrived.
But if you’re still not feeling festive, the Christmas cocktails on offer at these fine establishments are guaranteed to get you merry and fill you with good cheer.
Revolución de Cuba
Albert Dock, L3
Ditch the turkey and tinsel for a Christmas celebration filled with Latin American flavour at Albert Dock’s Revolución de Cuba.
If salsa on the dancefloor isn’t your thing, you can kick back with an Elf and Safety cocktail. This cheery blend of black rum, Cointreau, pineapple, cranberry and vanilla, garnished with blackberries and redcurrants will fill you with Christmas spirits.
Revolución de Cuba is also serving up festive twists on classic cocktails, like the Marshmallow Mojito, Salted Caramel White Russian and Festive Spiced Daiquiri.
Parr Street, L1
The true meaning of Christmas doesn’t necessarily include a raging hangover, so why not indulge in a round of non-alcoholic refreshments and create some memories that won’t end up a fuzzy blur?
Liverpool’s first dry bar The Brink has added some festive fun to its drinks menu with a limited edition range of seasonal Mocktails and Yuletide Pitchers.
The Mulled Mixed Berry Punch, Brink Toddy, Spiced Cherry, Seasonal Sherbet, A Little Bit of Luxury and the Brink Panther bring the festive joy, minus those post-party regrets.
Allerton Road, L18
Allerton Road’s new addition Verdant brings a touch of Parisian luxury to South Liverpool, and beverages don’t come any more indulgent than the restaurant’s Christmas cocktail menu.
Highlights include the Candy Cane, a nostalgic mix of vodka, Creme de Menthe and Cacao white liqueur, laced with dashes of grenadine and half and half. There’s even a candy cane on the side!
If that’s not sweet enough for you, the White Christmas is a froth-filled dream, bringing together Absolut Vanilla vodka, Frangelico, hazelnut liqueur, gingerbread syrup and cream. It’s a concoction that works equally well hot or cold and it comes with a gingerbread man to snack on.
Brunswick Street, L2
The Alchemist has quickly made a name for itself in Liverpool by serving up some of the most imaginative cocktails in the city, with a side helping of science and showmanship.
This Christmas, several seasonal additions have been added to its menu including the Gin-gerbread and the Winter Rum Punch.
The former comprises Tanqueray, gingerbread syrup, apple juice, banana liqueur and L&G; while the latter is a combination of Appleton signature rum, Amaretto, apple, lime, and white chocolate foam.
Crosby’s local bar and brasserie Pioneer is celebrating the holidays with special cocktails, festive menus and lots of twinkling lights.
Highlights of its Christmas cocktail offering include the sweet and creamy Candy Cane – made from Baileys, Frangelico, Kahlua, Creme de Menthe and milk – and the champagne-based Three Wise Men.
Meanwhile, Christmas in a Glass – which combines Kraken, Absolut Vanilla vodka, apple juice and maple syrup, infused with fresh cinnamon, apple and orange – promises to deliver, um, Christmas in a glass.

Red Door is your port of call if swigging cocktails into the early hours is on your holiday agenda and its drinks menu has just welcomed some special seasonal additions.
The Night Before Christmas is a winning combination of Appleton VS rum, white Cacao, mixed fruit, half and half and egg, while Miracle on Berry Street is a revamped mulled wine, with sloe gin, Malbec, orange juice, almond syrup and Christmas spices.
They are joined on the Christmas drinks list by the Snow Globe – a mixture of sloe gin, Chambord, gingerbread syrup, cranberry juice, blackberries, plum bitters & lime juice – and the Smoking Santa, a sharing kettle for up to six people, filled with Ketel One Vodka, Amaretto, Licor 43, cinnamon syrup, cranberry juice and Christmas spices.
