The team behind Liverpool’s Constellations is currently lining up its third venue in the city.
Going by the name Hinterlands, the new venture is being developed in phases and will kick off a full programme of events in 2018.
An 850 sq m warehouse on Mann Street within Cains Brewery Village is being transformed into the three-room venue, with phase one of the project due for completion at the end of 2017 and expected to open in January.
Incorporating the 365 sq m Event Hall, a hand-crafted mezzanine bar and the 231 sq m Eclipse Theatre, Hinterlands will join the team’s popular Constellations bar and venue and its Leylines artist studios.
Technology is said to be playing a prominent part in the design of Hinterlands, which is aiming to host events from community groups and not-for-profit businesses as well as weddings, parties, conferences, galas, team building sessions, food and drink events and photo and film shoots.
Nicholas Baskerville, marketing director at Constellations, says: “In the last three years we’ve watched the Baltic Triangle blossom. More and more companies are choosing the Baltic as a destination for their events. The Cains Brewery Village development has catapulted this trend in 2017.
“We’ve been working on the Hinterlands project for the last 12 months, after identifying a need for more space in the area.
“We’re approaching this project with the same affection and independence as Constellations. It’s a new space for new events whilst staying true to what makes the Baltic special; its creative, industrious and pioneering approach.”
