Dancers wanted for Liverpool Halloween parade

Liverpool dancers of all ages and abilities are being called upon to take part in a special Halloween parade.

The Movema World Dance Company wants performers for its Halloween Lantern Carnival Parade which will make its way through city centre later this month.

Billed by the organisers as “the best trip of your afterlife”, rehearsals are taking place at the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts (LIPA) on Wednesday evenings throughout October.

Choreographer Maria Malone says: “We are thrilled to offer this amazing opportunity to the people of Liverpool.

“We have performed many times with the Liverpool Lantern Company, participants and audiences love the extravagant, light-up costumes, it’s an unforgettable experience.”

Anyone interested in the taking part in the parade is being asked to attend a ‘World Fusion’ class between 6-7pm on a Wednesday as soon as possible at LIPA in order to secure a costume.

Rehearsals are part of the class, which includes a session of dances from around the world for ages eight and above.

The Halloween Lantern Carnival Parade will take place on 29 October.
