Up to 110 new homes could be built on land next to North Liverpool’s Tobacco Wharf if outline planning permission is granted today (24 October).
An application by Trophy Homes Ltd is among a number of new residential projects to be considered by Liverpool City Council’s planning committee.
Two separate buildings are proposed for the site between Tobacco Wharf and 43 Commercial Road; one of which would be next to the Leeds and Liverpool Canal and one would be adjacent to Commercial Road.
The application is recommended for approval subject to legal conditions, and a report to be discussed by the planning committee says: “The development site lies within a sustainable location in close proximity to public transport services and is consistent with objectives of the NPPF (National Planning Policy Framework).
“The interim head of planning considers that the proposal within a mixed use area would be acceptable.
“He considers the proposal would be a positive contribution to the area and would not have any detrimental impact on the visual amenity or cause harm to nearby residents.”
A part 14 and part eight-storey scheme to provide the first apartments in Liverpool Waters’ new Central Docks neighbourhood is also among the projects recommended for approval during the meeting, along with plans to transform the city’s Bevington Bush site with 614 new homes.
