District House future uncertain after indefinite closure

Liverpool bar, restaurant and event space District House faces an uncertain future after closing its doors indefinitely.

Venue operator Know Restaurant, Water Street Limited has ended its management of the former Newz Bar after just six months and is unable to confirm whether the venue will reopen in 2017.

Andy Duckworth at Know Restaurant, Water Street Limited, says: “We have had to make the decision to end our management of District House. We have had a great run and regret that we have had to take this action.

“As the management contract between ourselves and the lease holders for District House has come to an end we cannot say whether the restaurant will be re-opening in 2017.

“We have informed customers who are affected by the decision and are working with our friends in the hospitality industry to find suitable alternative venues.”

District House, which is based at the former home of Newz Bar and Amanzi on Water Street, opened in July last year.

Your Move has contacted the building’s owner Flanagan Group to establish whether District House is seeking new management.
