Domino’s Pizza has lodged plans to relocate its Allerton Road branch.
The American takeaway chain wants to close its current base on the South Liverpool street and move to a larger unit near the junction with Penny Lane.
Moving to the former office of estate agent Roberts Edwards & Worrall, which has been vacant for the past 12 months, would see Domino’s more than double its shopfront on Allerton Road.
Applicant Domino’s Pizza UK & Ireland has submitted a planning application to Liverpool City Council for the change of use of 3 Allerton Road from financial and professional services (Class A2) to a hot food takeaway (Class A5).
The proposed opening hours of the new takeaway next door to Tesco Express are 10am-1am for delivery and collection, and 1am-5am for delivery only.
A document included with the application reads: “ The site is located within the Allerton Road District Centre, the change of use would not result in the loss of a Class A1 retail use, accordingly the proposal would retain the level of retail use in the centre.
“In fact, it would enhance the vitality and viability of the centre by bringing back into beneficial use a unit which has sat vacant for over 12 months, contributing nothing to the centre.”
