Festive light display to illuminate Albert Dock

Liverpool’s famous Albert Dock will be illuminated by a festive light display during the Christmas period.

The popular tourist attraction’s Grade I-listed Dr Martin Luther King Jr building will showcase a 4D projection mapping attraction every evening throughout December.

The light display, which has been created in collaboration with Crucial FX and National Museums Liverpool, will run from 3 December to 2 January, between dusk and 11pm.

Clare Rawlinson, marketing manager, Albert Dock Liverpool, says: “We wanted to do something extra special this Christmas at Albert Dock – and what we have planned is very, very exciting. Visitors will literally see the Grade I-listed architecture of the dock in a way like never before.

“It goes without saying that no visit to Liverpool during Christmas is complete without a trip to the dock. Our unique waterfront setting, heritage and festive lighting provides a magical backdrop, while our culture offering is second to none.”

Crucial FX technology has previously been used to light up other famous landmarks, including Big Ben, Wellington Arch and Vienna Royal Palace.
