Whether it’s in the back garden with a few friends or out sampling a selection of Liverpool’s most revered foodie hotspots – the barbecue is a guaranteed hit every summer.
Fingers crossed the weather plays its part over the coming months and there’ll be plenty of opportunities to enjoy some quality cookout in the sun.
If you find yourself craving some chargrilled creations on a balmy summer’s afternoon but don’t fancy the fuss of inviting everyone over to your place though, you’re spoilt for choice here in Liverpool.
Liverpool’s best BBQ restaurants
HUS on Tithebarn Street is one Liverpool venue which can satisfy your need for meat. Located in the Tempest building, this Scandi inspired café, bar and restaurant makes perfect use of its charming roof terrace with a barbecue whenever the weather allows.
Keep an eye on their social media pages as they have been known to throw a free BBQ when the mood takes them.
Like the sound of gratis grilled grub? Then Heebie Jeebies is for you. Every Tuesday is ‘Meat & Music’ night at the Seel Street club with complementary BBQ food and live music on the menu.
Meanwhile over on Bold Street, American-style barbecue chain Red Dog Saloon has opened its first northern branch just in time for National BBQ Week.
Menu highlights include Alabama smoked chicken, maple bacon wings and Red Dog Saloon’s toughest eating challenge ‘The Devastator’ – a giant burger comprising three beef patties, pulled pork, six rashers of bacon and six slices of American cheese – competitors get 10 minutes to finish the lot.
Take a trip to the Baltic Triangle this summer and you’ll find FINCA hosting a number of Cuban-themed cookouts at Constellations on Greenland Street.
The pop-up turned permanent eatery will be serving up its flavour-packed ‘FINCA BBQ Box’ featuring baby back ribs in guava sauce, mojo chicken thighs and rice and beans alongside avocado and mango salsa – all finished off with a coriander and chilli dressing.
