A member of a family of jewellers which has been serving Liverpool for more than 65 years is to open a new store on the street where it all began.
Andrew Diggle will bring A & M Diggle to the city centre street where his grandfather John James Diggle originally launched the JJ Diggle business in 1952.
The new store will open up in the former cheque centre on Richmond Street, near to Williamson Square.
Due to launch in early August, it will be a solo venture for Andrew who has gained 34 years of experience in jewellery design and repairs having helped to continue his family’s JJ Diggle business.
He says: “I am delighted to be opening the doors to my new venture on Richmond Street.
“Especially as it is where my grandfather’s first shop was founded and where my father Norman Diggle carried on the business.”
A & M Diggle will specialise in handmade jewellery design and repairs, and will feature original jewellery designs by Andrew, who hopes his own children will one day continue the legacy of the business in the city.
