Lunya finds new home in Liverpool ONE

Popular Catalunyan restaurant, bar and deli Lunya is moving to a new location in Liverpool ONE.

The multi-award winning independent business, currently based on College Lane, is to open its new 5,500 sq ft site this October.

Replacing Thai eatery Busaba opposite BBC Radio Merseyside, Lunya’s new home will allow it to expand its deli and hold more food and wine tasting evenings.

Founders Elaine and Peter Kinsella are injecting £150,000 into the new site and will create 10 additional jobs, taking their Liverpool workforce to 55.

The move will happen in early October, with Lunya closing down on College Lane and overnight opening in its new location on Hanover Street.

Lunya has also grown to become the UK’s largest online Spanish food and drink deli, which it’s also planning to further expand with the move.

Elaine, co-founder of Lunya, says: “Although we and our customers love our existing site in Liverpool ONE, an opportunity arose with a new location offering all the extra space and facilities that was just too good to miss.

“We’re confident all of our many loyal customers will love it.”

Alison Clegg of Liverpool ONE owner Grosvenor Europe, adds: “Lunya is a great success story and we are delighted to be accommodating their growth.

“We have worked very closely with Peter and his team over the years, always focused on ensuring they thrive. It is very satisfying to see the business outgrowing its current home and expanding into another great location within Liverpool ONE.”
