Liverpool housing developments will be showing support for Macmillan this week when the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning takes place.
Redrow’s Summerhill Park and Redbridge Park schemes will be brewing up cuppas in aid of the cancer charity on Friday 29 September.
Members of the public are invited to attend the fundraiser, with homeowners on the developments also being encouraged to bring their own cakes for a ‘Bake Off’ style contest.
Visitors will be asked for a small donation in return for a brew and, in a bid to raise even more money for Macmillan, Redrow will host a guess the height of the cake sweepstake.
Ahead of the event Claire Jarvis, sales director for Redrow Homes (Lancashire), says: “The World’s Biggest Coffee Morning is Macmillan’s biggest fundraising event for people facing cancer. It’s a charity that’s close to our hearts as many Redrow employees have personal experiences of dealing with cancer, either their own or that of their loved ones, and the support of Macmillan has been invaluable.
“We would encourage people to come along and donate what they can as every penny will make a difference.”
Summerhill Park is located off Thomas Lane and Redrow Park is off Sherwoods Lane in Fazakerley.
Both events will be held from 10am to 12pm.
Elsewhere in the city, Liverpool ONE restaurant Cosy Club will also be getting involved in the annual charity initiative.
Staff at the eatery will be whipping up homemade bakes especially for the occasion and there’ll also be a guess the height of the cake game for the cause.
