MCM Liverpool Comic Con cancelled

Next year’s MCM Liverpool Comic Con, due to take place at Exhibition Centre Liverpool in March, has been cancelled.

The organiser of the international pop culture event announced via social media that it has decided to axe the Liverpool show indefinitely.

Anyone who has already bought tickets for the event will be refunded within 10 working days.

The Liverpool leg of the MCM Comic Cons, along with those in Telford and Northern Ireland, have been cut to allow the organisers to deliver “bigger and better events, brands, guests and entertainment” in Manchester, Glasgow, Birmingham and London.

Back in 2016, when the event first came to Liverpool, MCM announced it would return to the city every year until 2020.

What has turned out to be the final Liverpool Comic Con took place in March of this year. The two-day festival, attended by thousands in cosplay, featured a celebrity guest line-up led by ‘Flash Gordon’ star Sam J. Jones.

Fans of the event, including many who had already bought tickets, are upset the event won’t be returning to Liverpool.
