New homes planned for former university halls site

Up to 66 homes could be built in Mossley Hill under new proposals from Elan Homes and the University of Liverpool.

Subject to planning, the former Dale Hall student accommodation site off Elmswood Road, will be transformed into apartments, townhouses and luxury family homes with a central ‘village green’.

The 8.58-acre site closed in 2014 as the university moved to focus student accommodation within Liverpool city centre and Greenbank Halls of Residence.

Proposals for the development include a mix of twobedroom apartments, three and four-bedroom townhouses, and four and five-bedroom family homes.

Disposal of the land will provide the university with funds to reinvest in current and future student accommodation.

Developer Elan has previously built 16 executive family homes at Carnatic Court in Mossley Hill and has properties currently on sale at Aigburth Grange, Aigburth.

Marie Morris from Elan, says: “South Liverpool is a soughtafter neighbourhood and we’re looking forward to launching this new site in late 2018.”

Subject to planning approval Elan hopes to start work on site during the first part of next year.
