Pacific & Mediterranean fusion restaurant coming to Liverpool

A Heswall-based Pacific and Mediterranean fusion restaurant is opening a new eatery in Liverpool.

Silk Rd serves a combination of traditional tapas and meze style cuisine with inspiration taken from the famous cross-continental Silk Road trail.

Business partners Chris Williams and Javier Mellado first opened the Heswall site earlier this year and the pair have now invested a five-figure sum into the opening of a second site at Liverpool’s Beetham Plaza.

The venue will seat 140 guests with views of the Liver Building and a menu boasting highlights such as ‘Persian Lamb’, ‘Malaysian Steak’ and ‘Yaour Tlou Savoury Beef Kebabs’.

Chris says: “We are absolutely thrilled to be bringing Silk Rd to Liverpool in the new year and it’s certainly all systems go as we prepare for our January opening.

“Since the establishment of our site in Heswall, the Silk Rd concept has been a huge hit with both the town’s residents and Liverpool locals alike which has brought us to a position where we can open a second, more central site.

“The location in Beetham Plaza is one of the city’s many hidden gems and as soon as we saw the site, we instinctively knew that this would be the ideal venue for our expansion into the city centre.”
