Photography exhibition celebrates city’s commercial district

A photography exhibition celebrating Liverpool’s commercial district has launched at Our Lady and Saint Nicholas Church.

The pictures on display are the winning entries from Liverpool BID Company’s ‘This Commercial Distract in Focus’ competition, which challenged entrants to capture street scenes from the area.

The collection will be available to view at St Nick’s, which is situated at the bottom of Chapel Street opposite Mercure Atlantic Tower Hotel, until 25 November.

Throughout the exhibition, visitors will have the opportunity to vote for their favourite photograph and the picture with the most nominations will be handed a ‘people’s choice’ award.

Bill Addy, chief executive of the Liverpool BID Company, says: “We were overwhelmed with the quality and diversity of the photography submitted as part of the competition.

“Liverpool’s commercial district is a bustling area mixed with work spaces, homes, bars and restaurants and much more. With so much going on it can be easy to take the day-to-day surroundings for granted.

“The exhibition has captured all this and shown the district in a whole new light. I’d urge everyone to come along and see for themselves.”
