A popular Liverpool Turkish restaurant could be opening a new branch in Aigburth.
Eton Place, located on Woolton Road in Childwall, wants to launch its second eatery on Aigburth Road.
Liverpool City Council’s planning committee has been recommended to approve plans for a change of use of a unit which is currently occupied by part of an interior design shop near the junction with Mersey Road into a restaurant at a meeting next Tuesday (19 December).
According to the proposals submitted by director Turgut Olgun, the plan is to “introduce fresh and healthy Mediterranean food to the area”.
If given the go-ahead, Eton Place would join other nearby restaurants Cobo Oriental and Et Alia.
Current occupier Elaine Cunningham Design Studio also trades from the premises next door.
A total of 20 objections were received from local residents against the application, with many citing a lack of on-street parking as a particular concern.
However, a report recommending the plans for approval deems that there are “no environmental health or highway concerns” with the application given the location of the property in a neighbourhood parade of shops where there are other light night food and drinks venues.
