Supermarket chain Morrisons could be heading to Kirkby town centre as part of a project to revitalise the retail and leisure area.
Your Move understands the brand is the high profile name being lined up to anchor St. Modwen’s transformation.
Last week the regeneration specialist confirmed an agreement had been secured with a mystery leading UK supermarket, marking a “major step forward” for the area’s wider redevelopment plans.
A legal agreement is currently being finalised, with the brand due to be officially confirmed later this summer, and a revised planning application is being worked on to incorporate specific requirements for the retailer.
Morrisons declined to comment on whether or not it will be opening a store in Kirkby town centre.
A spokesperson for St. Modwen was also unable to comment further on the deal until the legal agreement has been finalised.
