Tapas restaurant lined up for West Derby

A tapas restaurant could be coming to West Derby under new plans submitted to Liverpool City Council.

Proposals to transform the former Village Tea Rooms and neighbouring West Derby Glass on Mill Lane into a small plates eatery have been revealed.

A statement issued to the council reads: “The proposed scheme offers a new restaurant and bar with covers of 35 and 20, respectively, serving the local centre as a place for families and friends to drink and dine.

“The proposal is to transform and connect the two properties at 49 and 51 Mill Lane. Creating a new frontage is important to the overall success of the restaurant and its enhancement to the character and appearance of the conservation area.”

The tapas restaurant plans are a potential new venture from the owner of Almond Restaurant & Bar, which is situated down the road at 16 Mill Lane in West Derby Village.

Your Move has learned that the new tapas restaurant is targeting an April launch.
