From day to day cooking to entertaining guests, the kitchen is one of the busiest rooms in any home and its fixtures, fittings and appliances should not only look the part but be of the quality to withstand the test of time.

Liverpool resident Toni Dee recently saw her dream room become a reality in her home with the help of the city’s Capricorn Kitchens. She talks Your Move through the process, from design to completion, and how the revamped space has impacted on her lifestyle.

Why did you decide to have a new kitchen fitted?

We decided to have a new kitchen as ours was 17 years old and we wanted it to be really big. We had planned to have our conservatory taken down so this gave us the perfect space.

What were your priorities for the new kitchen?

We wanted quality and symmetry. It was so important that the kitchen was structurally solid and could be seen in situ.

Why did you choose Capricorn Kitchens?

Capricorn Kitchens had a beautiful showroom and salesmen who took on board what you wanted. They didn’t pester you when you walked in.

How did you find the process of designing your kitchen and having it installed?

The process was so easy. I scribbled a diagram of what I wanted and took it to Jason at Capricorn Kitchens. He listened to my requests and booked me in a few days later to show me the plans. I was blown away. He had listened to all of my wishes and brought my scribbled diagram to life. The installation was fabulous too. The kitchen fitters were punctual, arriving daily at 8:30am. They were clean and tidy and I had total confidence in them.

What impact has the new kitchen had on your lifestyle since it was fitted?

It’s had a huge impact. I now have a stunning kitchen with endless amounts of storage and soft closures on all of my doors. The room is such a talking point for my visitors and I can’t wait to cook the Christmas dinner in it!

How confident do you feel about the condition and lifespan of your kitchen moving forward? Is there anything in particular that gives you peace of mind?

I’m very confident in the quality. You can feel it in the doors as they’re heavy and the soft closures make all the difference. I get peace of mind knowing that if I had a problem in any way at all, Capricorn would rectify this for me.
