A Retro Wine Night will blast Fonseca’s Stanley Street into food and drink past this month, and one lucky reader will win tickets to the event.
Taking place in the ‘Downstairs Bar’ of the venue on 30 September, the evening will be hosted by expert Matt Cox of Rodney Densom Wines who will showcase specially selected wines with a nostalgic twist.
Guests will also enjoy suitably paired set dishes to complement the drinks being tasted and discussed.
The specially crafted retro wine list will feature old favourites including Lambrusco, Chardonnay and Sherry, accompanied by a kitsch menu including Fonseca’s Prawn Cocktail, TV Dinner-style Chicken Kiev, ‘Better Than Your Nanna’s’ Rice Pudding and Cheese and Pineapple on a Stick.
Danielle Youds, general manager of Fonseca’s, says “This is a wine night for everyone; a chance to rediscover youth and enjoywine varieties that, in their heyday, were the drink du jour!”
To be in with a chance of winning a pair of tickets to the Retro Wine Night – worth £29.95 each – tweet @yourmovemag the correct answer to this question:
Which country does Lambrusco originate from?
The deadline for entries is 5pm on Friday 18 September. Terms and conditions apply.
